Dear FullNet Members:

If you are like most people using the Internet, you've most likely downloaded music on the Internet.

Did you know that when you use these file sharing services, they infect your computer with Spy Ware or Ad Ware?

Did you know that by simply clicking on a random "pop up" ad, your computer may have been infected with Spy Ware?

Have you noticed your computer running slower than ever?

The reason for that may have to do with online advertisers adding Spy Ware or Ad Ware to your computer without your knowledge.  Spy Ware is a common term for files that are installed on your system without your knowledge that allow companies to monitor your Internet activity. Ad Ware is software that will show you popup ads over and over. What they don't tell you, however, is how these files can be extremely dangerous to your PC and could cause major problems with your PC.

We are offering every FullNet Member the opportunity to easily check out the best free Spy Ware and Ad Ware protection that we were able to find.  The free program that we found is Ad-Aware 6.0 from Lavasoft.  It is one of the first applications built to scan your system for Spy Ware and Ad Ware as well as remove it. Ad-Aware has been downloaded and installed over 17 million times and is recommended by CNETís Download.com.

To check out Ad-Aware and protect your computer for free, click here: http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10186632.html

While we believe in and use Ad-Aware 6.0, please keep in mind that we can not be responsible for any problems that might develop with your computer from its use.

We urge you to check out Ad-Aware and protect your computer for free!  Our goal is to put an end to shady online advertising so that Internet users can enjoy the World Wide Web without having their privacy intruded upon.

Privacy Policies Revealed!

This month we will briefly discuss Privacy Policies and how they should work.

Privacy policies, the fine print found listed at the bottom of web pages and program licensing agreements, are the most easily accessible means of avoiding unwanted junk mail and email.  Companies use privacy policies to lay out exactly what information is collected from you, the user, and how it will be used by that companyís staff and business associates.  Note that I did not say that the existence of a privacy policy precludes the company in question from gathering and reselling (or renting) marketing data about you, so reading privacy policies is extremely important.

Or rather, that is how privacy policies should work.  According to a recent researched article in the Washington Post, the sad news is that privacy policies are optional and there is no enforcement agency to check the validity of a company's privacy policy.  The Post's article is quite lengthy and gives several specific instances where a company's actions directly contradicted their privacy policy, as well as detailing marketing jargon and current legislation relating to online privacy.  The article is well-written and we strongly encourage you to read it online at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A54888-2003Jun30.html.

All of this begs the question, "What can I do to protect my privacy?"  The answer is still to review a company's privacy policy before instigating any transactions with them.  Contact the company via email or telephone and have them detail to you how your information will be used.  If you think that a company is not honoring their stated policies, contact them and, if necessary, file a complaint against them with their local chapter of the Better Business Bureau.

FullNet's Privacy Policy:

FullNet will not sell or distribute our customer's information to any third parties, for any reason, without the express consent of the customer(s) involved. Simple use of our services DOES NOT constitute such consent. We will, however, supply any information required by subpoena or court order to law enforcement agencies as required.

Important Announcement:

In an effort to serve you better, FullNet is now offering 24x7, toll-free customer service and technical service at 877-FullTec (877-385-5832).  In the past, many of you have used a local number to reach one of our friendly Customer Service Representatives.  However, we have made the decision to move to a one-number system that will be easier for everyone to remember and use.  The old number you may currently be using will still work for a period of time, but I would encourage everyone to make a note of the new number and start using it when you need to reach us, day or night, seven days a week.  Those that happen to live in the Oklahoma City calling area may still use the local number of 235-5688, but for all others we would encourage you to take advantage of the toll-free number effective immediately.
Thank you for your help in this transition and as always, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
